The King and Queen's Visit

FDR and the King and Queen of England visit a local church.

FDR invited King George and Queen Elizabeth to visit Hyde Park. He, along with Eleanor and Sara, brought the monarchs to the St. James Church across the street from Springwood. During the royal visit, the first time a sitting monarch came to the U.S., FDR showed them American notions of democracy and even served them hot dogs at a picnic.
